I purchased this dvd player because I have some Japanese anime films that are region 2 only. And so I bought this region free dvd player and it works wonderfully. The sound, picture and look of this dvd player is just as good as any other dvd player. I would even suggest that it is BETTER than a regular dvd player you buy at BestBuy because it can play any dvd from around the world.
