*$* ViewSonic VFD724w 11 7 Inch Digital Photo Frame Cherry Wood

I did a ton of research before Christmas on photo frames because I wanted to buy three of them as gifts this year. In the $30 - $40 range (which is what I paid for mine) I don't think you can do much better than this frame. The picture quality is excellent and 128 mb of internal memory is quite a bit for this price range. It also has about twice the resolution of other comparable frames. The frame itself is also very attractive and appears to be well made.

I only have two complaints:

1) The resolution - although high - is a very odd aspect ratio, 800 x 480. That means that if you don't want your photos to show up with black bars on the side, you will have to crop every one of them, which can be kind of a pain.

2) The internal memory on the frame can only hold about 240 images even if there is space left on the frame. To get around this you need to create a folder on the frame and put the images in it. Not a big deal if you know about it, but I didn't see it in the manual and ViewSonic tech support didn't appear to be aware of it either.

Overall, this appears to be an excellent frame with great image quality. Except for the caveats above, I would highly recommend it.
